Organising blocks are those tasks that are easily put off because we find them too daunting. I’ve sorted out a couple recently, such as educating myself on superannuation and decluttering the office, but I still have some scary ones to go, including cleaning the oven :)
These are the tasks that feel great when they’re done.
By tackling them piece-by-piece until they’re finished, we also clear the physical and mental blocks that built up while we procrastinated. And getting rid of these blocks somehow makes it feel like our energy can flow in that area again.
This was the case with my super. Once I made the time to review my account and read about how the fund managed its investments, I felt empowered enough to tackle other financial tasks.
Or another recent example: getting rid of most of my unread books made me feel more like reading the ones that were left.
What organising blocks could you tackle to free up some energy?
